Ministry shapes how we lead, but it can also quietly shape who we believe we must be.

Many clergy find themselves leading from the outside in: managing the expectations of others, measuring their worth by congregational approval, and struggling to distinguish their own voice from the roles they fill.

Restore Clergy's programs are designed to change that.

Each program is a different entry point into the same essential journey — from leadership defined by the expectations of others toward leadership grounded in your own values, calling, and self-knowledge.

Meet your Facilitator:

As ordained clergy, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Coach, Rev. Kinsie M. Tate, LPCC, founded Restore Clergy to provide wellness options for clergy struggling with burnout.

Kinsie has over 15 years of experience as a licensed counselor and served as clergy in a local church prior to becoming a therapist. She is the spouse of United Methodist Clergy and understands the unique challenges pastors and their families face.

Restore Clergy grew out of the struggle she witnessed pastors experiencing prior to and during the pandemic and her own experience of burnout. She understands ministry from the inside out and provides an authentic space for clergy to take off the pastor hat and be who God created them to be.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • Participants that have gone through this process report feeling more confident as a leader and more hopeful about the church as a whole. This is a flexible way to engage in self-reflection and renewal as you are serving the church rather than taking leave. The process spans a year to give leaders time to integrate the concepts and discover new challenges with support. This gives you increased capacity for creativity and new tools to address challenging ministry situations.

If you have accountable reimbursement funds, continuing education funds, or renewal funds in your budget, ask if you can use them toward the Restoration Fellowship. We also encourage you to talk to your denominational judicatories to see if there are funds available to support this continuing education and renewal experience.

    • Continuing Education sessions are $75 for the hour long teaching session.

    • Leading from Abundance Virtual Program starting January 2026 is $750 for the 6-week program and combines teaching and group coaching.

    • April 2027 Restoration Fellowship is $4500. This includes 2 rest and renewal retreats and all the zoom sessions. It does not include travel to and from the retreats.

    • Scholarships and payment plans are available.

  • Yes! All programs are eligible for CEU’s

  • The cost of individual therapy, individual coaching, or leadership training can run well into the thousands over the course of a year.

It is often difficult to find a therapist or coach with availability that truly understands and has lived experience with what it is to serve in ministry.

The Restoration Fellowship encompasses all of these options. If you consider the cost to your health, wellbeing, relationships, and long term viability in ministry if you don’t address symptoms of burnout, and consider the freedom from anxiety and dread about your situation that comes from participating, the investment is well worth it.

  • That is not a problem! Many participants have expressed that they gain just as much personal insight when other participants are being coached as when they are being coached directly. You do not have to share in the group sessions to benefit from the program, but I feel confident that your level of comfort will grow and you will eventually feel comfortable enough to share and workshop situations that you find challenging!

  • Our programs are designed with busy pastors in mind. They are either 1 hour virtual events or self paced over several weeks or months. You might need a couple hours a week, to review the materials and reflect on your experiences during the Restoration Fellowship ore Leading From Abundance, but you will be spending LESS time on overthinking, procrastinating, and habits that leave you exhausted. You will also likely find that you increased mental capacity for the things that matter most.

  • If you find yourself dealing with anxiety, over thinking, procrastination, and conflict avoidance, among other unhelpful stress coping habits day in and day out, now is the time to address it. Activities like this drain energy unnecessarily and make them worse over time.

  • Listen to the testimonials of clergy who have already completed the Restoration Fellowship.

Individual results will vary, but participants reported building authentic relationships with clergy peers that understand the strain of ministry. They reported feeling freedom from feelings of loneliness, isolation, and anxiety.

They developed a new framework for managing stress, overcoming unhelpful beliefs that kept them feeling stuck, and are now able to identify and understand what to do when their nervous system is overwhelmed, giving them choice in difficult situations instead of reacting based on negative experiences from the past.

They have more capacity to be proactive in taking care of their health and wellness instead of reactive.

If you engage in the process and do the work, you will grow and find relief. Focus on showing up and sharing what you are experiencing and you will see results!
